Meet Oral Surgeon Dallas H. Hickle, D.D.S.
Dr. Dallas Hickle understands that superior dental and surgical care involves equal parts of compassion and proficiency. In his 28 years of practice, he offers an abundance of both. He strives to provide the most comforting environment possible for his surgical procedures.
Dr. Hickle’s interest in entering the medical profession began while attending Thousand Oaks High School, the town in which he grew up. He graduated from Revelle College at UC San Diego, obtaining a BA in Biochemistry in 1974.Following two years at San Diego State University as a biochemistry graduate student, he attended a four year dental school at UC San Francisco and obtained his doctoral degree in dental surgery in 1980. While in dental school he was accepted into Omicron Kappa Epsilon, a prestigious honor dental society. He also received awards from both the Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology departments for outstanding performance. As a junior in dental school he was invited to attend a two week externship in the surgery department at the University of Washington Dental School, the first from UCSF to do so. This reinforced his interest in oral surgery and he decided to specialize in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. He subsequently fulfilled a 3 year residency program at the Harbor/UCLA Medical facility. Following this completion of training in 1983, he worked in North Wales, United Kingdom, for the National Health Service, as a fellow in the Oral and Maxillofacial unit. His training involved traditional oral and maxillofacial procedures, as well as, head and neck cancer surgery.
Dr. Hickle returned home in 1984 and began private practice in Huntington Beach, California. In 1994 he decided to relocate his family to beautiful Northern California, and currently provides surgical services in both his Novato and San Rafael offices.
Dr. Hickle is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Society, the California Dental Society, and the Marin County Dental Society.
He has devoted his professional career to all aspects of oral surgery with special interests in the treatment of third molar extractions, dental implants and bone grafts . To keep abreast of the latest developments in the specialty, he has always exceeded the continuing educational requirements of the state. He takes time to give his patients the individual attention they deserve, offering honesty and reassurance, as well as professional competence.
Dr. Hickle has been happily married since 1987 and has twin children. His interests include international surfing, road cycling for fun and charities, mountain biking and skiing. He enjoys reading, history, and travel. He has been an active member of the community, serving as a Rotarian of Ignacio since 1994.
